Bookstore Financial Aid Advance Amount As a service to eligible financial aid recipients, Georgia State University offers students the opportunity to use financial aid funds as an advancement to purchase books and supplies from the Georgia State University Bookstore only. (Note: the advancement is deducted from the financial aid award along with tuition and fee charges). To access the bookstore advancement, a student is issued an account in the Georgia State University Campus Book Store. The bookstore advancement is an early refund of financial aid funds (e.g. The Pell grant or a Stafford loan). YOUR BOOKSTORE ADVANCEMENT IS DEDUCTED FROM YOUR GRANTS AND LOANS. IT IS NOT A SEPARATE OR ADDITIONAL TYPE OF FINANCIAL AID. Your financial aid bookstore advancement will be available for purchasing books and supplies beginning December 4, 2017 through January 14, 2018 inside the bookstore as well as via the University Bookstore website. You can make purchases with your financial aid advancement. If you choose not to make purchases at the bookstore, the amount will be available as part of your refund.
